CANIS Inspection Services offers complete purchase order management opportunities, from the pre-award phase through to the delivery and installation of the equipment by providing independent, impartial quality surveillance and expediting to industry codes, standards and project specifications.
Facility Assessments and Quality Program Auditing:
Prior to awarding an order, CANIS is able to perform a complete
facility assessment of the potential vendor. The facility can
be assessed to determine if the vendor is capable of meeting the
project requirements, not only in quality standards, but in
capacity, shop loading and engineering support capabilities.
The vendor's quality program in place can be evaluated to ensure
that the quality control requirements of the projects are addressed
in the vendor's program. Implementation of the program is
verified to ensure its effectiveness and reliability.
Pre-Inspection /
Pre-Fabrication Meeting:
After awarding the order, an important factor in the success of the
project is to ensure that the order is started in the right
direction. CANIS can develop a pre-inspection /
pre-fabrication meeting agenda and conduct the meeting to ensure
that all stock holders not only have a clear understanding of the
project requirements and contractual obligations, but also have a
clear plan on how these requirements will be met. Establishing
open lines of communication and understanding of the roles and
responsibilities is crucial in attaining the common goal of project
success.
CANIS can assist in the development of the vendor's inspection and
test plan to ensure that the execution of the quality plan is
complete, documented and accountability is established. Client
witness and hold points are determined and notification process
communicated.
Reviewing the document submission requirements and schedule will
ensure that the required engineering is complete and sufficiently
mature to allow for the progress of fabrication.
Continuous in-process
Inspection and Expediting:
CANIS will provide full execution and implementation of the project
inspection and test plan. CANIS will be responsible for
arranging inspections in accordance with the project requirements
within the allocated budget.
The document status will be continually monitored to ensure that all
engineering requirements are being met and the implementation into
fabrication is proceeding.
Routine visits are arranged to monitor the progress and identify any
potential issues that may have an impact on the schedule. This
allows any issues to be raised early and a solution determined to
promote positive outcomes for the project.
Continuous surveillance of fabrication during various stages will
ensure compliance with all project specifications, technical
requirements and industry codes and standards.
There are always discussions regarding the separation of inspection
and expediting functions. At CANIS, we believe that good
inspection inherently drives expediting by providing detailed
analysis of the situations. As such, inspection and expediting
can effectively work hand in hand to promote both quality and
schedule. We do however, respect the request to keep the two
functions separated and are able to meet whichever inspection and
expediting philosophy that may apply.
Certified Weld
Inspection:
Visual inspection of welding as certified to the American Welding
Society, Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI) standards (CWB
W178.2, Level II equivalent). Extensive practical and
theoretical knowledge of various welding processes for the
development and review of welding procedures and implementation.
Witnessing of
testing:
Practical knowledge of non-destructive examination processes,
including radiography, magnetic particle inspection, liquid
penetrant inspection and ultrasonic inspection allows for reliable
witnessing of testing to verify compliance with procedures and
acceptance standards.
Witnessing of Factory Acceptance Testing ensures that equipment
performance is in accordance with approved procedures and project
requirements.
Final Inspection:
At the conclusion of fabrication, the final product is verified for
compliance with all contract and specifications. We also
ensure that packaging and shipping preparations are completed and
meet the requirements for domestic or international shipping to
ensure that the equipment arrives on site in the condition that it
leaves the manufacturer.
Communication:
Clear and effective communication is essential to project success.
At CANIS, we are proud to provide clients with clear, detailed and
complete reports, promptly, to accurately inform clients of the true
conditions so that appropriate actions can be taken as necessary.
Open communication allows for prompt solutions to issues early and
ensures continued good relations with all parties. CANIS is
able to effectively liaise between the vendor, client, engineering,
construction, end user and other shareholders.
Ongoing support:
Following the delivery of the product, we are committed to provide
support for any inquiries that may arise from construction or
commissioning crews as may be needed.
Ethics and Safety:
All work is performed in strict compliance with all health and
safety requirements. Enforcement of all safety requirements is
performed at all times. Compliance with the highest ethical
and moral standards is a constant at all times. As a
representative of our clients, professional conduct is essential in
establishing an atmosphere of trust and integrity.
