About CANIS Inspection Services

Canis was founded after over 20 years of experience in various disciplines within the manufacturing and construction industries.  I began as a Mechanical Engineering student before directing into the field of welding.  My industry experience started as a welder/fitter, building machinery, piping and most notably, high quality, intricate ASME pressure vessels, fabricated to stringent client requirements.  From there, I progressed into shop inspections, following ASME Section VIII, Division 1, Code requirements before becoming a National Board Authorized Inspector, with 'A' endorsement.  This work expanded my range from new fabrication and repairs to also include in-service inspections, installation and construction for all industries, including power, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, refineries, chemical processing, food processing and commercial and residential construction.  I was then given the opportunity to further my career in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) sector, with both clients and vendors located globally.  During this time, I have worked for three major players in the field, each with their own strengths and advantages.

My diverse, international exposure to all stages in the process, in different functions, from receipt of raw material, through to the full operation and commissioning of multi-billion dollar industrial facilities has proven invaluable.  It allows the ability to observe and to understand issues from multiple perspectives.  This, in turn, facilitates conflict resolution and promotes prompt, mutually beneficial solutions.

Having worked for multiple EPC companies, I have come to gain a clear understanding of the expectations demanded by high profile clients and projects.  The attention to detail and the requirements for timely, clear and accurate communication are essential to the success of a project.  Awareness of construction needs are beneficial in driving fabrication schedules.

All these experiences can now be drawn upon to provide full purchase order management services, from the award stage through to delivery, installation, commissioning, and everything in between.  Client satisfaction is my goal and I will endeavour to always exceed expectations to successfully deliver a quality product, on time.
